Salome Schmuki (*1979) is a graphic designer and artist working on her own as well as collaborative projects. She examines the structure and organization of language, the way in which written language is coded, and relationships and/or disruptions in various aspects of perception and the (sub-)processes involved in it. Her research in the design department at the Jan van Eyck Akademie in Maastricht revolved around her interest in dyslexia. Based on different aspects of the reading process, she creates typographic designs in which she resists the uniformity of letters. In her lecture she will present some of her recent artistic work.
